On February 15, TTG ASIA reported that tourists traveling to Sri Lanka will again be able to obtain a visa on arrival. This service was returned on February 8 after a long break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Sri Lanka Tourism, the new rule will play into the hands of those tourists who are experiencing difficulties in obtaining an online travel permit, for example, due to lack of time. Since obtaining a visa on arrival is a simpler and faster procedure, the country expects an increase in the number of tourists.
Representatives of local businesses express confidence that tourists will give preference to those countries that are easier to come to, and Sri Lanka is now one of them. So, for example, the island is waiting for the resumption of the tourist flow from India, from where 56,268 tourists arrived in 2021.
