ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill has died. The 72-year-old guitarist died in his sleep at his home in Houston, Texas. The news of his death was announced by members of the group Billy Gibbons and Frank Byrd on Facebook.
The sad news was reported by his colleagues in the group on social networks.
“We are upset by this news. We and our fans around the world will miss his strong presence, his kindness. We will forever be associated with this “Blues Shuffle in C”. We will miss you very much, “his colleagues wrote.
A ZZ Top message on their social network on July 23 said that Hill had returned home, although the band is currently on tour. He took a short break due to pelvic problems, which he described as a “slight deviation from the road.”
Dusty is one of the first members and founders of “ZZ Top” as a leading bassist and second vocalist since the founding of the rock band in 1969. It is followed by hits such as “Gimme All Your Lovin”, “Sharp Dressed Man” and others.
In 2019, ZZ Top celebrated its 50th anniversary with a tour and a documentary called ZZ Top: That Little Ol ‘Band From Texas.
