On the night of July 2, residents and tourists in the UAE felt the strongest tremors. The cause was a magnitude 6 earthquake with an epicenter in southern Iran.
According to tourists living or vacationing in the country now, the first shock was recorded at 1:30 local time, and after another 2 hours, an aftershock occurred. The earthquake was most strongly felt in the following resort cities: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah. At the same time, many tourists decided to evacuate the buildings, as they considered staying in them unsafe for their own lives and health.
“Strongly shook on the 40th floor, even sick,” wrote one of the tourists. “They also felt uncomfortable on the 17th floor,” the interlocutor added.
It should be noted that, according to the National Center of Meteorology, on this day there were no casualties and no damage. However, repeated tremors are not ruled out. The fact is that Iran is considered one of the most seismically active countries in the world.
