The Khaleej Times reports that the UAE authorities are planning to turn some of the rural suburbs of Dubai into cultural, tourist and ecological zones.
Plans are currently underway to develop areas such as Al Faqa, Al Lusaili, Al Habab, Al Marmum, Al Awir and Margham. This was stated by the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
According to him, the main goal of the new project to improve the surroundings of Dubai is to create new economic opportunities for residents of these areas.
