Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airports will face peak traffic with the start of spring break at local schools. In particular, a sharp increase in passenger traffic is expected in the periods from 25 to 28 March and from 7 to 9 April.
In this regard, Dubai Airports warns of possible delays and encourages all passengers to plan their trips in advance and, if possible, use public transport, namely the metro.
On peak days, the metro stations in Terminals 1 and 3 will extend their opening hours to serve more passengers. For travelers over 12 years of age, we recommend using Smart Gates to speed through passport control.
Etihad Airways noted that for travelers to the UK, Bahrain and Ireland, COVID restrictions have been completely lifted, while those traveling to Jordan, the Maldives and Saudi Arabia must complete a health declaration.
Travelers departing from Abu Dhabi will only need to take a PCR test if required at their final destination. Fully vaccinated passengers do not need to take a PCR test upon their return to Abu Dhabi.
It is noted that on peak days, check-in desks at airports will open 4 hours before departure. All passengers are advised to check in online and receive their boarding passes at home. In addition, it is recommended to check the departure terminal before leaving home.
