Abu Dhabi is setting new occupancy rates for public spaces, the capital’s Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Committee said.
From July 19, 2021, public and private beaches, parks, swimming pools, restaurants, cafes, gyms, fitness clubs and spas in hotels will start operating at 50 percent occupancy. This rule will apply to urban and water public transport.
Shopping centers will be allowed to fill up with visitors by 40%, cinemas – by 30%. Five-seat taxis will be allowed to carry no more than three passengers, and seven-seat taxis – no more than four. The committee urged the population to observe preventive measures, including social distancing, and to wear masks in public places.
As previously reported, from July 19, Abu Dhabi authorities will impose a curfew – from midnight to 05:00 – in connection with the implementation of the national disinfection program. Restrictions on movement will apply to residents, public and private transport.
The authorities in the UAE capital urge local residents not to leave their homes at the specified time, except in cases of emergency: such as buying food and medicine.
From July 19, the rules for entering Abu Dhabi from other emirates will also be changed. Thus, entry into the capital of the UAE will be allowed only within 48 hours after receiving a negative result of the PCR test for COVID-19 and within 24 hours after receiving a negative result of the “laser” DPI test.
Those who enter the capital, presenting the results of PCR tests, will have to undergo repeated PCR tests on the fourth and eighth days of their stay in Abu Dhabi. Those who present DPI test results at the entrance will have to pass PCR tests on the third and seventh days of their stay in the capital.
It is noted that the new rules will apply to all citizens and residents of the UAE, including those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who violate the testing rules will face fines.
