Abu Dhabi authorities make life easier for those who have recovered from COVID-19

The authorities of Abu Dhabi have made life easier for fully vaccinated residents of the capital who have recovered from the coronavirus. Now they do not need to take two additional PCR tests for COVID-19 to restore their green status in the Al Hosn app.

According to the new update, the “red” status in the Al Hosn app will automatically change to “green” on the 11th day after receiving a positive PCR test. Previously, even fully vaccinated residents needed two negative test results within 24 hours to exit quarantine.

As noted by the developers of the application, the “green” status will be maintained for 30 days, after which, within 60 days, users will need to confirm their status again by passing PCR tests every 14 days. It is clarified that those with a positive PCR test result are exempt from vaccination or revaccination for 90 days, while they must undergo regular PCR testing (every 14 days).

Currently, green status is required for residents of the UAE to visit public places, as well as federal government buildings, schools and colleges. The “Green” pass is activated for 14 days after uploading a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, otherwise it becomes “gray”.

In order to be considered fully vaccinated, UAE residents must be revaccinated six months after receiving the second dose of the vaccine. There is a 30-day grace period for booster shots.
