Ukrainian aircraft continue to support forest firefighting efforts in Turkey.
An-32P firefighting aircraft made 18 flights the day before and dropped 144 tons of water on the fire-affected areas of Antalya province.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, since the beginning of the operation, during 34 flights, Ukrainian planes have dumped 272 tons of water on fires.
On July 30, Ukraine sent two An-32P aircraft and a special support group to extinguish forest fires to Turkey.
On Monday, August 2, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said that over the past 5 days, 125 out of 132 forest fires have been localized or extinguished in Turkey. Seven fires continue.
16 aircraft, 9 UAVs, 51 helicopters, 1 unmanned helicopter, hundreds of pieces of equipment, more than 5 thousand firefighters are involved in extinguishing forest fires in Turkey.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said that due to forest fires, the population of eight settlements of the country had been completely evacuated.
