The “Children of Fire” has accused the authorities of forest fires that have engulfed Turkey since late July. This was reported by the newspaper Yeni Safak.
“Children of Fire” is a branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), whose members are recognized as terrorists in Turkey. The organization has publicly declared itself responsible for the fires through social networks, explaining its actions by fighting the authorities. “It is time to bring the Turkish regime to its knees with a stream of fire until it learns to understand another language,” the statement said.
The newspaper notes that the “Children of Fire” have been regularly organizing forest fires in the country since the 1990s. Last year, they held similar actions.
