According to a high-ranking official, in a country with a population of about 84 million, Turkish health workers performed nearly a million injections of COVID-19 across the country on Friday.
On Twitter, Health Minister Fakhrettin Koca confirmed on Friday that 997,000 people had been vaccinated on Friday, urging the population not to take the risk of postponing vaccination, but instead to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Since the start of the immunization campaign in Turkey in January this year, more than 46.55 million Turkish citizens have been vaccinated across the country, and more than 14.78 million have received both doses.
Since the outbreak last year, more than 5.39 million cases have been reported in Turkey, with 49,473 deaths.
