A magnitude 4.9 earthquake shook central Turkey this morning, TRT Haber reported.
The earthquake was registered at 2:28 local time (1:28 Kyiv time) in the Turkish district of Kayseri. Its epicenter was in the area of the city of Saraoglan, according to the Office for Disaster Management and Emergencies of Turkey. The epicenter was at a depth of 23 km from the earth’s surface. The quake was also felt in nearby counties.
Kayseri Governor Shehmus Gunaiden said after the quake that all teams had been sent to investigate.
Saraoglan Mayor Bekir Ayildarum said the quake had caused cracks in some homes and damaged outbuildings. He added that no one was injured.
