Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Saturday that a Russian Be-200 firefighting plane had crashed in Turkey after completing a firefighting mission. It was noted that five Russian servicemen and three representatives of Turkey were on board the plane. A commission of the Russian Defense Ministry was sent to the crash site to find out the causes of the tragedy.

According to the TV channel, some time after the start of extinguishing the connection with the plane was lost. It was one of the planes involved in extinguishing fires in Mugla province. According to preliminary data, the plane could not reach the required height after water intake and crashed into a rock.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey reported that during the fire in the city of Kahramanmaras crashed a Be-200 fire plane, leased in Russia. Rescuers were sent to the disaster area. The Russian Embassy in Ankara said it was investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
