A sleep expert has listed lifehacks on how to sleep safely at the airport if your flight is canceled or delayed.
Donna McSherry notes that there are a number of tips that can help make your airport sleep more enjoyable and less stressful.
According to her, first of all, you should be prepared in advance for such a situation. Therefore, it is worth taking with you, for example, noise-canceling headphones or an eye mask – thanks to them, the quality of your sleep will significantly improve.
Secondly, you need to find the most suitable place where you can take a nap comfortably. The expert recommends that when looking for a place to stay overnight, you go to the arrivals area, not the departures area. In her opinion, you will be “disturbed less” there.
Once you’ve found a place to sleep, you need to consider safety, says Donna McSherry. She clarifies that if you are traveling with someone, it is better to agree to take turns sleeping. If you are alone, then it is worth hiding valuables so that no one tries to steal them while you are relaxing.
Also, do not forget that in the event of a serious delay or cancellation of a flight, you must contact the airline counter and request compensation. There is a possibility that you will be provided with a hotel room.
