The heat has covered Spain. Temperatures topped 40 degrees yesterday in parts of central and southern Spain.
Similar values were last recorded over 40 years ago. According to meteorologists, the reason for the unusually high temperatures in June is global warming.
Extreme temperatures are forecast to continue through the end of the week. The heat wave is expected to spread to other parts of Europe, such as France. From tomorrow, 38-40 degrees are expected.
