Tourists traveling to Turkey have been warned of their possible arrest due to a little-known rule

Foreign tourists traveling to Turkey have been warned to always have a photo ID. Otherwise, they may be arrested by the police. The Sun warned British tourists about the little-known rule, but the rule also applies to Ukrainians.

Such precedents already existed when tourists were taken to a Turkish “prison” for lack of a passport, which police were asked to present.

It is specified that such documents include a passport, driver’s license, or residence permit. Here is what is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

“Lack of a photo ID in Turkey is illegal. You must always have your passport or residence permit with you. In some busy areas, especially in Istanbul, the Turkish authorities may stop members of the public from checking documents. ”

Turkey is not the only area where there are rules that tourists may not know about. Spanish law is known for its numerous and amazing laws. That is why it is easy for travelers to break the rules on vacation and “get” fined.

These include fines for smoking on the beach or wearing a bikini and topless walks on the resort’s main streets. Probably the biggest fine awaits the traveler if he is caught at illegal parties in some popular resorts in Spain – more than 900 thousand hryvnias.
