Egyptian authorities have detained three tourists who posed nude in the Giza pyramids area, in violation of the country’s public decency laws, Al-Ahram reported.

An initial investigation revealed that the individuals attempted to take nude photos behind the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) and were apprehended on-site.
During questioning, the tourists reportedly admitted to the act, claiming they were unaware of Egypt’s legal restrictions and that such behavior is not criminalized in their home countries.

A police report has been filed, and the suspects have been referred to the public prosecutor. Their nationalities have not been disclosed.
