Another alarming news for both German and European tourists, in general, was presented by Lufthansa: in addition to the cancellation of summer flights, and such cancellations have already accumulated about 4 thousand, the carrier has started canceling flights for the upcoming winter season as well. We are talking about the period from October 2022 to March 2023. The new Lufthansa cancellations will further increase the workload of travel agencies and the panic of tourists – in fact, now there is no season left when you can relax comfortably without wild queues at airports. Now thousands of both Germans and European tourists have fallen into despair…
At the same time, as noted by the local media, Lufthansa has not yet disclosed how many regular flights will be available in the winter period. For the summer season, meanwhile, the figures are named: Lufthansa has so far canceled 3,700 flights in the period from June to October due to a lack of staff. At the same time, the air carrier said that it can make further cuts in August when the flow of vacationers will increase even more. However, the vast majority of canceled flights are domestic flights.
Flight cancellations across Europe continue to rise due to strikes and staff shortages at airlines and airports. Lufthansa also has a problem with many staff on sick leave – around 40% of check-in staff in Frankfurt and 25% of check-in staff in Munich are currently on sick leave.
Meanwhile, the air chaos continues to grow. Due to the lack of staff, tourists are already advised to fly only with hand luggage – is there a risk that you will have to wait for your luggage for several days. And get it literally with a fight. Read the details at the link.
