Due to the lack of flights, the Russian tourist flow to Turkey decreased by 62.4 percent compared to May of the pre-pandemic 2019.
According to experts, Turkish resorts are now experiencing a redistribution of key entry markets. So, in the first place in terms of arrivals in the country was Germany – 494 thousand visits, which is 20 percent more than in 2019. The second place was taken by the United Kingdom, from where 395,000 trips were made, an increase of 27.6 percent.
Russia closes the top three with 362,000 arrivals, which is 62.4 percent less than in May 2019. It is noted that then every fourth tourist in Turkey was from Russia, now – only every tenth.
