The prestigious Turkish resort of Marmaris has proven to be the cheapest place to meet the “basic tourist needs” available to tourists in Europe. This assessment was presented in a British study by the Post Office UK. It’s about the total cost of what “tourists will probably buy during their summer vacation.” The list includes, for example, the cost of a three-course dinner with wine, a bottle of beer, a glass of wine, a can of Coca-Cola, a large bottle of water, a cup of coffee, sunscreen and insect repellent.
As a result, the cheapest was Marmaris – there the whole set can be purchased for 31.45 euros. The second leader in the ranking of low-cost resorts is a little behind him – it’s Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, where it will cost 31.52 euros. Third place belongs to the Portuguese resort of the Algarve – “the cheapest in the eurozone”, according to researchers. However, the cost has grown significantly – 53.49 euros.
Fifth and sixth place went to Cape Town in South Africa and Paphos in Cyprus. There, the “tourist set” will cost 64.14 and 68.01 euros. By the way, in Cyprus, prices fell by 15% – the researchers add. The situation is similar in Greece.
Also in the top ten are the Costa del Sol, Funchal in Madeira – here the set costs 77.18 euros, and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands in Spain 85.71 euros.
Interestingly, only one popular beach destination for our tourists came to the opposite end – Dubai. Icelandic Reykjavik became the leader in terms of roads.
