The passenger received $10,000 compensation from the airline for overbooking

American and European airlines pay their customer’s monetary compensation if a passenger was unable to get on a flight due to overbooking.

Delta Air Lines even trades, offering a certain amount until the required number of seats becomes available. A case has already been recorded when the compensation reached the maximum value – 10 thousand dollars.

According to The Atlanta Journal, the American airline sold eight tickets more than it needed for a domestic flight from Michigan to Minnesota. None of the passengers wanted to leave the board, so the real bidding began.

Usually, the issue can be resolved for 200-300 dollars, but even when the amount reached $5 thousand, no one agreed to vacate the seat. As a result, the price tag rose to $10,000, and only after that, did some passengers agree to stay at the airport.
