The number of foreign tourists in Mexico has already exceeded the level of 2019

International tourism to Mexico has finally surpassed pre-pandemic levels. In the six months of 2022, 10.26 million foreigners visited the country, the Mexican Department of Tourism said. This is 1.5 percent more than in the first half of 2019.

Most of all in the Mexican resorts of Americans. The number of U.S. tourists arriving by air in the first half of the year was 6.66 million, up nearly 20 percent from the same period in 2019. The uncertain situation on the European continent has prompted many Americans to take vacations closer to home.

COVID-19 is no longer a problem for Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations, Caribbean beaches. True, Mexico has never introduced any flight bans, testing requirements, or masks. Rather, the masses of foul-smelling Sargassum algae that have accumulated along the beaches cause the main harm to tourists’ rest.
