The luxury Turkish resort has temporarily replaced Ukrainian and Russian tourists

Tourists from Europe, primarily from the United Kingdom and Germany, have been able to temporarily compensate for at least some Turkish resorts’ declining Ukrainian and Russian tourist flows caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to spring statistics, Takettin Ozden, president of the Kusadasi Resort Hotel Association (KODER), announced this report. However, he stressed that the forecast for the summer season is still difficult to give, but there is hope.

“Compared to last year, when in March-April there were almost no European tourists because of the code, in April-May we saw a sharp increase in European tourists. And in general we saw a good load, although the number of tourists from Ukraine and Russia decreased significantly,” – Mr. Ozden stated.

He added that there is a significant increase in the number of tourists from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland, with the UK and Germany in the lead. Almost all Balkan countries follow.

“Despite all the negativity that has stopped the movement of tourists for some time, the flow of tourists is growing again. We had a very good start compared to last year. And from now on, I think, will continue. In all these countries there is an increase in reservations we have hope, “said the expert from Kusadasi.

REFERENCE: Kusadasi is a luxury popular high-end Turkish resort on the Aegean coast in Izmir province. Among tourists, it is known primarily for the large number of beaches. The resort is also popular with “cultural” tourists – just 10 km from it are the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus, where tourists can go on a tour.
