AirlineRatings has published a list of the best airlines in the world. Predictably, the first place was taken by Qatar Airways. She also won in long-haul transportation in the Middle East / Africa region.
After several months of a pandemic-related shutdown, travel is back to life. True, while many of the world’s airlines and airports are mainly struggling with cancellations and flight delays.
Amid this chaotic season of air travel, the Australian aviation safety and market assessment agency AirlineRatings.com has released its latest annual review of the world’s best airlines.
Qatar Airways topped the list for the second year in a row. One of the decisive advantages was that Qatari practically did not stop flying during the pandemic and were the only major carriers to make huge profits, not losses. The airline also received an award for excellence in long-haul transportation in the Middle East and Africa.
The rankings also took into account the age of each airline’s fleet, environmental and safety performance, passenger reviews, and product offerings.
Qatar Airways is followed by Air New Zealand, an airline that topped the list six times in recent years and came in second last year. In 2022, Air New Zealand is also recognized as the carrier with the best cabin in premium economy and economy class, as well as the best in the category of long-haul flights in the Pacific region.
Number three on the list is Etihad Airways. The UAE-based airline was also awarded Green Airline of the Year for its vision to reduce emissions.
The number four airline is Korean Air, which also won Cargo Airline of the Year and Asia’s Best Long Haul Carrier.
Singapore Airlines, the winner of Best First Class and Best Airport Lounges, rounded out the top five.
Low-cost airlines were not included in the ranking, but the world’s best low-cost airlines, nevertheless, were named in alphabetical order: Allegiant Air, AirAsia, Easyjet, Jetstar, Flair, Fly Dubai, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest, and VietJet Air.
