A fairly strong earthquake was recorded on August 1 in the central part of Turkey – in the province of Konya. Its magnitude was 5.0.
This was reported by the Turkish Office for the Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (AFAD).
The earthquake occurred at 18:06, its source lay at a depth of 7.2 km, the epicenter was in the Selçuklu area.
In turn, the staff of the Kandilli Observatory estimated the power of the seismic event at 5.1 points. No damage or casualties have yet been reported.
