Sri Lanka lifts state of emergency

Sri Lanka has lifted the state of emergency that has been in effect since May 6.

According to local authorities, today the situation in the country is stable and calm, including for foreign tourists – nothing threatens their rest.

Recall that the state of emergency was introduced in Sri Lanka in early May due to mass protests amid the economic crisis, which escalated into riots and clashes between protesters and security forces.
