Spain is on track to close 2025 with around 97 million international tourists, according to data from INE’s Frontur and Egatur surveys.
Between January and August, the country welcomed 66.8 million visitors, up 3.9% from the same period in 2024. Associated spending reached €92.46 billion, an increase of 7.1%.
In August alone, 11.3 million travelers arrived in Spain, generating €16.39 billion in expenditure, confirming the resilience of demand despite slower growth rates.
The Balearic Islands led arrivals (2.53 million visitors), followed by Catalonia (2.18 million) and Andalusia (1.71 million).
Top source markets include:

United Kingdom — 13.2 million tourists (+4.3%) from January to August, including 2.21 million in August (+4.4%);

Germany — 8.2 million tourists (+2%), including 1.29 million in August (+4.5%).
The Ministry of Industry and Tourism emphasizes that the national strategy focuses on sustainable tourism, prioritizing quality over quantity, diversifying destinations, and balancing visitor flows throughout the year.
