The World Economic Forum has excluded Russia from the index of international tourism and travel. The index, which is forecast for two years starting in 2022, does not include 117 countries, although it includes such ambiguous security countries as Yemen, Mali, and Pakistan, albeit at the bottom of the list.
Thus in the last rating, Russia took a place in the fourth ten, namely rose to 39th place. And compared to the previous rating – in 2017 – it rose by four points. It will be recalled that in the meantime, in particular, the Football Championship took place, which presented the country’s tourism opportunities. But now they have decided to ignore the presence of Russia and this is not surprising. In 39th place, by the way, is now Slovenia.
As for the leaders of the rating, the first place went to Japan, followed by the United States and Spain. In the top five – France and Germany. Switzerland, Australia, Great Britain, Singapore, and Italy are also in the top 10.
As for the countries most popular with our tourists, Turkey took 45th place on the list. Egypt is even lower – at 51. But in European resorts, things are a little better: Greece at 28, Cyprus at 31, and Bulgaria at 41.
