Record heat in Spain: Tourists are asked to be careful on the street

A dangerous heat wave awaits Spain, with temperatures rising to 44 degrees in some parts of the country.

Forecasters have warned of dangerous heat in seven autonomous regions. Temperatures are expected to continue throughout next week.

The influx of warm air from North Africa will lead to a significant increase in minimum and maximum temperatures in most of the Iberian Peninsula. They will be delayed until the end of next week, according to the forecast of the State Hydrometeorological Service.

Andalusia, Aragon, Castile-La Mancha, Castile y León, Catalonia, Extremadura, and the region of Madrid are the seven regions where warnings have already been issued for very high maximum temperatures of up to 44 degrees Celsius.

The Guadalquivir, Tagus, Guadiana and Ebro valleys are expected to be even hotter.

Warm winds will also bring desert sand from the Sahara, which can lead to reduced visibility.

Thermal storms with strong gusts of wind are also expected in the interior of the northern part of the country.

Only after the end of next week is it possible to lower temperatures, which in the past few years due to climate change have become higher in the Iberian Peninsula.
