Rockaway Beach in New York (USA) was closed to swimming after sharks were seen next to it. This was stated in the press service of the Department of Parks of the city.
Authorities note that police aviation is currently conducting aerial surveillance. The beach will be reopened when the threat of marine predators is gone.
The department clarifies that over the past two weeks, sharks have attacked at least five people off the coast of Long Island. The wounds of the victims did not pose a threat to their lives.
