Summer vacations have begun, and while travel agencies have shown encouraging growth, the French don’t seem ready to go broke on travel this summer.
According to a study by the insurance company Allianz Travel, 15% of French respondents consider the situation too stressful and do not plan a vacation.
Travel agencies reopened their doors and faced a large influx of visitors.
Despite the positive dynamics, some obstacles to recovery still exist. The restrictions are still in place and punish the French’s desire to move elsewhere.
According to a study, on May 24 and 25, 2021, using a representative sample of the French population aged 18 and over, the French want to recharge, but not at any cost.
While 60% of those surveyed will choose activities that do not involve wearing a mask, 15% will refuse summer vacations because they think it is too risky.
Despite the reduction in restrictions, the risks are considered too great for a segment of the population, 45% of whom choose to travel within France in order to avoid health problems associated with traveling abroad (PCR test, risks of border closings, etc.).
But Europe does not stand aside, as 13% of respondents are planning a vacation in European countries and only 3% will try to travel outside the European Union.
According to the survey, 35% of respondents plan to purchase travel insurance this summer, and 28% of respondents purchase travel insurance systematically.
