National Geographic Traveler has identified the coolest places in Europe

Selected the coolest destinations in the world according to the magazine National Geographic Traveler. In the list of 19 cool places on the planet – six European. In the first place travel experts put the Japanese city of Setouti.

Corsica (France), fourth place

The coolest of the Europeans was Corsica – an island in the Mediterranean Sea, located just 11 kilometers from Italian Sardinia. Corsica is famous for its beaches and amazing nature. There are not many tourists on the island – but could this be a disadvantage?

West Yorkshire (UK), seventh place

If you’ve been learning English all your life and suddenly find yourself in West Yorkshire, in the north of England, you may even be scared, because the local dialect is different from “classical” English.

The county seat of Leeds is student and fun, with three universities. Ruins of old castles and fortresses, parks, museums and pastoral silence – why not come here, say, on the way from London to Edinburgh?

Oslo (Norway), 11th place

The only capital on the list is Oslo, Norway. They say that when you find yourself in this city, you immediately fall in love with it. The best time to travel to Oslo is in late spring, summer or early autumn, when the north winds are not so severe and the daylight hours are long.

Dundee (Scotland), 15th place

Not too popular with tourists Dundee – one of the best cities in Britain in terms of living standards. Modern buildings here are adjacent to the old buildings, and in the morning fishermen bring fresh catch. Edinburgh can be reached by car in an hour and a half.

Matera (Italy), 17th place

The ancient city of Matera is located in the southern region of Basilicata. It is better to combine a trip with a trip to Puglia: the famous houses of Trullo, the beaches and the city of Bari.

The old part of the Mother, carved into the rock, is part of the UNESCO heritage. In 2019, Matera will become the cultural capital of Europe.

Sibiu (Romania), 19th place

Sibiu is located in the most vampire region of Romania – Transylvania. The historic center, ancient churches, mountain peaks on the horizon and a mystical atmosphere – look and believe in vampires.
