NordLayer took key metrics from 66 countries, including security, internet quality, tourist attraction, cost of living, and English proficiency, to rank the top countries for remote work.
Germany topped the global teleworking index with an overall score of 0.824. Although the cost of living in the country was one of the highest on the table, and the quality of the Internet and prices were not the most attractive, the first place is awarded to the country due to its high level of English proficiency, investment in education and health, and tourist attractiveness ratings.
Second place – Denmark, with an index of 0.816. The country provides the best internet quality, electronic infrastructure, and global healthcare.
Third place – the United States with a total index of 0.809, thanks to decent economic and social conditions, and digital and physical infrastructure. At the same time, the table showed that the country has a very low cybersecurity rating and a high cost of living.
Spain – fourth place and 0.796 points. It has a good cybersecurity record, a more affordable cost of living, and the best tourist attraction rating of any country in the ranking.
Fifth place was taken by Lithuania with a score of 0.794. The country has a high level of cyber security and affordable internet, although its quality lags far behind some competitors.
The top ten countries for remote work also included: the Netherlands, Sweden, Estonia, Singapore, and France.
