In June, 146,460 arriving tourists and 549,870 overnight stays were registered in places of collective accommodation in Montenegro, the National Statistical Institute of the country reported. According to preliminary data, 87.5% of tourists were from other countries, and 12.5% were local citizens.
In June 2022, most overnight stays were realized on the country’s coast – 90 percent, in the capital – 6.3 percent, in mountain resorts – 2.3 percent, a small part – in other cities.
Collective accommodation covers tourist villages and resorts, hotels, guesthouses, hostels, and campsites. It does not include private arrangements in houses and rooms for rent, which make up less than 1.5 percent, BTA reported.
In June 2021, in Montenegro – according to state statistics – there were 69,923 visits by tourists to places of collective accommodation, and 277,467 overnight stays, which is, approximately half as much compared to the same period in 2022.
