The passenger of the low-cost airline WizzAir, heading from Paris to Budapest, learned about the cancellation of the flight at the airport from the cleaning lady. This is reported by Daily News Hungary.
According to the woman, the air carrier informed tourists by SMS about the delay in departure.
“We all sat and waited at the Orly airport until finally, the cleaning lady led us to a small monitor, where it was written in French that the flight had been canceled at all,” the woman complained.
The airline itself confirmed this information only a few hours later. Subsequently, WizzAir employees said that passengers can either cancel the flight themselves and receive a refund for tickets, as well as a small compensation, or rebook the flight for another time.
However, tourists who had checked in online in advance complained that neither the carrier’s website nor the phone app allowed them to do so.
As the newspaper notes, a week ago a similar incident occurred with a WizzAir flight from London to Budapest. Passengers initially received reports of a delay, but in the end, the plane never took off. They also failed to rebook the flight.
