The “obsessive hospitality” of residents and the outright harassment of traders and fraudsters can seriously spoil the impression of a vacation. Tourists on the Reddit social network compiled for their colleagues a detailed rating of countries where there is a high risk of encountering harassment of various appeals.
Tourists from North Africa and Asian countries received the largest number of votes. Traders, taxi drivers, and other scammers simply “got” tourists in Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt; as well as in India, Jordan, and Cambodia.
However, it is not smooth sailing in Europe either. Migrants who try to steal something from tourists or openly beg are the main culprits there. Users of the social network assure that the greatest risk of meeting them is in Italy, France, and Portugal.
Individual cases of harassment of tourists are also mentioned in countries from which it is difficult to expect this. Including in South Korea and Japan, where tourists were “harassed” by street vendors. Tourists named New York as another risky city in this sense.
