Before the start of the summer season, Turkish authorities initiated the demolition of berths in the picturesque province of Mugla, home to popular resorts such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Dalaman, and Capucargin. Most of the berths are located opposite the hotels and are intended exclusively for tourists.

According to Turkish media, most of the buildings were declared illegal by the authorities. It is specified that a total of 400 illegal berths are being liquidated, and about 200 of them are in Gocek Bay.

Unauthorized piers have already been demolished in the village of Ortakent (Bodrum), continues in Turkbuk, a town opposite Bodrum, in the village of Segut in Marmaris is about to end, followed by Selimiye and Bozburun (Marmaris).

Officials did not ignore the famous resorts of Fethiye, Dalaman, and Capucargin – there are also preparations for demolition.
