In Thailand, a giant statue of a golden vagina and phallus was opened, tourists flocked to them to “charge” with success

Thailand is famous for its incredible temples because they are wonderful architectural structures and a symbol of the country, but now the increased attention of tourists has attracted a new non-standard attraction at one of them – a giant statue of a golden vagina and a phallus 1.22 meters high. The building “charges” with success, fans claim.

Foreign travelers and Thais themselves flock to a Buddhist shrine in Nakhon Ratchasima province to worship a golden replica of female and male genitalia, hoping it can help them with success, fertility, beauty, and finding love, the Daily Star reported. It is known to have been built by the Buddhist nun Naowaratkotchaporn Simetavong, or “Brahmin Mother”, and the local authorities have deemed the statue’s existence morally acceptable.

The anatomically correct statue is decorated with prayers and surrounded by eight smaller vaginas. And under the mango tree, a stone snake with seven heads was built to “guard” the intimate organs. Fans have already dubbed the landmark the “vagina of luck.”

However, this is not the only shrine that attracts attention. Locals also built a matching golden penis surrounded by eight smaller organs and put them on public display. Now both statues are in the same time as a symbol of love and the beginning of a new life.

Golden genitalia became a hit in tourism. On May 22, the head of the local council, Kanatchon Sijaroen, was joined by a team of his staff and several police officers to inspect the new items and make sure they comply with local regulations: “We want to make sure the temple meets moral standards. We have ordered them to remove signs that may be vulgar. It was also considered disrespectful to have a Buddhist shrine so close to genital statues, so we ordered it moved to a new location.” To visit the vagina statue and hold a special ceremony, tourists will need to pay a fee of 500 baht (about UAH 550 at the current exchange rate).

“I believe that we should respect the genitals because they are the source of life and wealth in the world. There is nothing strange or unusual about this. Despite this, I am ready to cooperate with the government to solve any problems,” the author of the note shared her opinion.
