Popular resorts in France have found a replacement for Russian tourists – now Americans are actively visiting the country. This is reported by the American television channel CNN.
It is noted that US citizens are increasingly choosing Paris and the French Riviera for holidays because of the favorable dollar exchange rate, which is almost equal to the euro.
According to the American portal kake.com, after analyzing the booking statistics, the experts concluded that the figures returned to the pre-Covid level of 2019. So, in the Mercadal hotel in June, the share of American tourists rose to 42 percent of all other travelers.
Research firm GfK calculated for Visa that, on average, Americans who come as part of a tour group spend about $402 a day. This is much more than travelers from other countries of the world, notes the portal Ouest France.
Earlier, the French Regional Chamber for Tourism, citing data from the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, estimated that in 2022, due to the lack of Russian tourists, the state will lose about $50.4 million.
