An Irish airline Ryanair plane had to be turned around due to a disabled passenger who was forgotten at the airport.
The plane, flying from Bordeaux, France to Edinburgh, Scotland on the evening of Tuesday, September 19, was already on the runway but had to return to the terminal.
The reason was the staff’s omission: they forgot to wait for a man in a wheelchair to board, who had paid for additional services for passengers with disabilities. The incident caused a flight delay of more than two hours.
An eyewitness told the media: “At the beginning and end of the flight, the pilot asked for forgiveness.” According to him, the crew chief explained the incident was due to congestion at the airport.
“It is unacceptable that Bordeaux Airport makes such mistakes with passengers who require special care. We will do everything possible to prevent this from happening in the future,” the airlines responded.
