Most hotels in Egypt have increased prices by 15%. This was stated by Mohamed Fala, a member of the Red Sea Tourism Investors Association – most of the hotels in Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Sharm el-Sheikh. The reason is the increase in prices for raw materials, food and beverages, as well as many other services included in the costs of the tourist program.
“Hotels with existing contracts with foreign tour operators have not raised prices, and they will have to bear the difference in price until the end of the contract,” he added. while the occupancy of hotels in the same Hurghada ranges from 60 to 65%, the expert added.
“Most tourists who are currently in tourist cities on the Red Sea are Germans, Czechs, Serbs and Poles. Germany has topped the list of countries that have been exporting tourists to Egypt since the beginning of this year, “he added.
