By July – almost a week – the occupancy of hotels in Turkey will reach 100%, and thus free rooms will end. This was stated by a member of the Board of the Federation of Hoteliers of Turkey (TÜROFED) and President of ALTİD Burhan Sili.
According to him, judging by the current demand, pessimistic forecasts, despite all the crises, did not come true – and the stated goal in Turkey for the number of foreign tourists in 2022 will even be exceeded.
“As of mid-June, hotel occupancy has reached its highest level in three years,” Burhan Sili said, assessing the current level of bookings. He also noted that the seats for July are already running out. Although not all hotels were filled in June, hotels in the resort areas will reach 100% occupancy in July. At the moment, when booking for July, it is difficult to find vacancies in hotels, “said Seeley.
He also warned tourists, mostly domestic, who were going on vacation in July and have not yet booked hotels – there may not be enough space for them.
In general, the demand for tourists inspires optimism in the Turkish expert – he said that the targets for the reception of tourists in 2022 will be met and exceeded. He reminded that according to the statement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on tourism for 2022, this goal is 42 million tourists and 35 billion dollars – and, in his words, “it seems that this goal will be much exceeded.”
