Portal Cairo 24 reports that the staff of the sea patrol in the area of the reef popular with divers El Fanadir in the vicinity of Hurghada (Egypt) noticed a large whale shark.
Egyptian animal rights activists ask tourists not to disturb the shark that has swum in Hurghada since this is not a marine predator, but a completely peaceful whale shark that feeds on plankton and is not dangerous to humans.
The management of the reserves has issued special instructions for tourists and divers, in which they urge not to touch the fish, not to try to saddle it, and not to pursue or interfere with its movement. Flash photography is also not allowed. It is recommended to keep a distance of at least 3 m in front of her and at least 4 m behind her.
The whale shark is the largest fish in the world, its length can reach 15–20 m, and its weight is 13–18 tons. It floats near the surface of the water and is not dangerous to humans. The whale shark is considered rare and endangered.
