Hotel prices in Antalya have fallen by 80% from the high prices at the beginning of the season, hoteliers continue to complain about falling profits and the summer season has been extended until mid-November. This is what the Turkish press writes, citing hoteliers.
Hotel owners are offering discounts of up to 80% as the season gets longer and continue to complain that they cannot make a profit due to the imbalance in costs and the exchange rate. “Tourism operators, who had a bad start to this year due to high prices, have reduced their prices by 80% since the beginning of September in the hope of extending the season. Tourists have started to come to the hotels, but this time the profitability has decreased. Antalya hotels have reduced the cost of a three-day stay for 2 people from 62 thousand liras to 30 thousand liras when demand dropped in July, and are now selling the same room for 22 thousand liras.
The price reduction worked — as the president of the Association of Tour Operators of Alanya Burhan Sili stated, the number of tourists is 10-15% higher than last year. However, according to his forecasts, the winter season will be lower than expected, since the travel agency that brings the most winter tourists from Europe to Turkey has gone bankrupt.
As hoteliers add, the season will be extended until November 15 — at least this was stated by the chairman of the board of directors of NG Hotels Hediye Güral Gür, and she also confirmed that there is an increase in occupancy so far. However, the hotelier also confirmed the complaints: “The increase in costs and the imbalance in the exchange rate are forcing us to go beyond the budgets we made last year.”
We will add that the weather so far allows us to confidently talk about extending the season. At least until the end of September, the temperature in Antalya will remain summer and will not fall below +30. The water in the sea also remains +29 degrees.
