Many pensioners from Germany are actively booking hotels in warm countries in order not to pay for heating in their country in winter.
Wintering will cost them less than living at home during the winter months due to skyrocketing heating costs.
The most popular destinations are Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, and the Canary Islands, although there is demand for Thailand, Senegal, Cape Verde, and the Caribbean.
According to the publication, in the coming winter, a family of pensioners in Germany will have to pay 600 euros for heating per month instead of 200, while wintering in Tunisia will be much cheaper for them, besides, they will be able to save about 300 euros per week on groceries thanks to the hotel system “everything included.”
Recall that earlier Greece invited pensioners from Europe to spend the winter on the Mediterranean coast, where “heating is not required.”
