Forbes named the reason for Turkey’s cheapness: a week’s vacation in Antalya instead of 3 days in Venice

“A great opportunity to spend a holiday in Turkey” was advertised for foreign tourists by Forbes magazine. According to the publication’s statement, vacations in the Turkish countryside are significantly cheaper than “expensive vacations in Europe.” The reason is simple — the recent devaluation of the Turkish lira against the dollar. As a result, spending a week in Turkey in a luxury hotel will cost less than just three days in Venice, experts say.

“Have your holiday expenses increased due to inflation in Europe and the US? Consider Cappadocia instead of Venice”, – say the experts of the publication, which, we will note, are willingly quoted by the Turkish mass media. According to them, the current situation is such that many tourists cannot afford to “keep up with the rising costs of travel.” But Turkey provides such an opportunity.

“I visited Istanbul, Cappadocia and Izmir in 7 days. I was in the ancient city of Ephesus, saw the temple of Artemis, went up in a hot air balloon in Cappadocia. I visited the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern with a private guide. We traveled by personal transport, stayed in the most luxurious hotels, including the iconic cave hotels of Cappadocia,” writes an expert of the American publication. According to him, “less than $1,900” was spent on this entire vacation.

As a result, the American said that he would rather spend a week in Turkey instead of three days in his beloved Venice, where everything is very expensive. Turkey overtakes its closest competitor, Greece, and also in terms of prices. As the Americans said: “Greece is one of the cheapest countries in Europe, but a bottle of water on Kos costs 3 euros, and in Turkey – only 25 cents. This means exactly a 12-fold difference.”
