Everything has changed: it has become known where the Germans will rest this summer, and how much they will spend on vacation

German tourists want to travel and relax more than economic, geopolitical, and pandemic problems, but they are still making adjustments. The vast majority of 78% of Germans plan to go on vacation, but 21% already admit that they can not afford a summer vacation.

Many will also prefer domestic tourism this summer instead of the usual beach holidays on the shores of the Mediterranean: experts say that in German tourism now everything has changed, and it is no longer like tourism three years ago.

These are the data of the International Holiday Confidence Index survey conducted by the French research company Opinionway for the travel insurance company Allianz Partners. According to him, 4 out of 5 Germans will go on vacation. At the same time, the average holiday budget of German family vacationers is 1,600 euros and has risen in price by the time of proof. And 21% have already stated that they do not have the financial means to go on vacation.

The main reason for this is the rapidly rising inflation in the country and the rising cost of living. However, the share of those who say that summer vacation is very important to them increased by 26 points and reached 74%. And most of the vacationers present are optimistic and expect that their vacation will go as they planned.

Another familiar way to save is the advantage of domestic tourism. According to the survey, 47% of Germans who plan to go on vacation this year will prefer their own country. The main reason is the same – rising prices and the rising cost of living.

Another 40% of respondents expect to spend their vacation abroad, mostly in Europe. Their number increased by 18% compared to the survey conducted in winter.
