Evacuation from Bodrum and Marmaris: tourists flee fires in Turkish resorts

Turkey continues to fight deadly forest fires that have engulfed the country, forcing tourists to evacuate by boat.

More than 120 fires have already been contained, but local and international firefighters are still fighting seven more. It is known that only eight people died.

Over the weekend, tourists and locals had to evacuate from Bodrum and Marmaris, private boats came to their aid, as the flames dangerously approached the shoreline.

Investigators are trying to establish whether some of the bonfires were set on fire intentionally and in connection with which the suspect in the arson was detained.
