Egypt has created an Internet portal for the registration of arriving tourists

The Egyptian authorities launched the Visit Egypt Internet portal, where arriving foreign tourists can go through pre-flight registration. This should speed up the procedure for passing sanitary control at airports.

According to the publication, travelers need to indicate the flight number they are arriving on the website, download COVID-19 vaccination certificates or PCR test results. After passing all the necessary procedures, the user is given a special QR code. It must be saved in digital format or printed, and then presented before boarding the plane and upon arrival in Egypt.

It is clarified that it is desirable to register on the portal 2 days before departure. “The goal of abolishing paper forms is to make life easier for tourists. The world has long been addressing these issues digitally. All the passenger needs to do is fill in the required details on the Visit Egypt platform,” said Ministry of Health spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

At the same time, travelers still have the opportunity to enter the country with a paper questionnaire, which is usually filled out either on board the aircraft or upon arrival at the airport. However, the Egyptian carrier EgyptAir already strongly recommends that its passengers use the electronic format.
