Egypt cancels PCR tests for entry into the country

The Egyptian authorities have decided to cancel all anti-coronavirus requirements for foreign tourists arriving from abroad. You no longer need to present a certificate of vaccination or a document confirming a negative PCR test result. This was reported on June 16 by the portal Sada El Balad. The decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers in connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the high rate of vaccination in the country.

It is reported that concessions will come into force on June 17. At the same time, experts warn that since airlines have not received official instructions when boarding, passengers may still be required to provide a document on testing or vaccination. Therefore, for tourists departing in the coming days, it is better to prepare them.

Previously, fully vaccinated tourists could enter Egypt with a vaccination certificate. The rest had to present at the airport a negative PCR test result made no earlier than 72 hours before entry, or a rapid antigen test no older than 24 hours. The requirement did not apply to children under 12 years of age. Now Ukrainian tourists will be able to enter Egypt with only one passport.
