Going on vacation is usually an exciting time, but for parents of young children, flying is often difficult.
However, TV presenter Samantha Brown shared her tips when traveling with children, including why you should never sit down first.
As the mother of twins, Brown adopted several wisdoms while traveling the world with them, including taking them with her on a long-distance flight to Asia when the children were only five years old.
In an interview with CNN Travel, Brown spoke about her main advice – never use the option of pre-boarding a flight with children.
Instead, she advised to stand in line with the usual landing group.
While this may seem like a nightmare for parents who want to get on a plane when it’s quiet, she insists that while waiting for their turn, children won’t have to sit in their seats on the plane for long while others board the plane.
It also gives some hyperactive children a little extra time to vent their energy at the landing before sitting still throughout the flight.
For parents of very young children, Brown advises that if you travel with a partner, take on a different job.
She advises one person to go forward during the pre-boarding to pack all luggage, which may include bulky items such as strollers and car seats.
Another person, she said, could stay with the children.
The TV presenter also stressed the importance of constant availability of snacks for both children and hungry parents.
Brown acknowledged that her advice is not without fail, and even said that her children are known to have cried the whole flight, but after 45 flights in 2019 alone, she may be worth listening to.
Recently, the flight attendant told what service she can never ask passengers for, details here.
